Project Description

This project installs six new drinking fountains adjacent to existing softball fields within four City of Davis parks (Civic Center Park, Community Park, Slide Hill Park and Mace Ranch Park). In order to install the fountains, new water and discharge lines will need to be installed and new concrete pads poured.

There may be some minor dust and noise associated with project construction, and bike paths in the immediate vicinity may be partially blocked temporarily.  All project work will be contained within the City parks, with the exception of the new drinking fountain at Slide Hill Park, which will require trenching within the public street on Tulip Lane.

Project Schedule and History

Spring/Summer 2024: Anticipated start of construction 

October 2023: Construction bids resulted in higher than anticipated total project costs; City Council rejected all bids and construction delayed from Fall 2023.
