Project Overview

This project will replace 187 water saddles in the Wildhorse development.

Saddles connecting water services to the water main have deteriorated from corrosion at numerous locations throughout Wildhorse. Dozens of saddles have already been repaired by the Water Division in the current project area as breaks and leaks have occurred. Previous improvement projects over the past few years have replaced 130 saddles. The current project will replace 187 water saddles which will complete the majority of saddle replacements in the Wildhorse development.

The construction started in early June and will last for a few months for the entire project. The construction window is approximate and may change depending on weather, supply-chain issues or other conditions. This work will require working in specific areas multiple times over the course of the project.

Below is the proposed construction sequencing and impacts:

· The contractor will provide an informational door card a minimum of 7 days in advance of the start of construction indicating the dates of construction. ‘No Parking’ signs on barricades will be placed 48 hours in advance of the work.

 · Construction crews will typically work daily Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

· In order to complete the work of improvement, your water service will need to be shutoff for a period of time. Your water service will be turned off from about 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The contractor will provide a second informational door card a minimum of 24 hours prior to any impending water shutdown. The door card will state the dates and times your water will be shutoff. You can prepare for the water shutdown by having bottled water on hand for drinking and by storing water in buckets to flush toilets. Please secure or cover open containers of water for safety purposes.

As with most construction projects, there may be traffic, dust and noise impacts. The City is committed to minimizing impacts as much as possible and keeping the public informed. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this water system improvement project.
