Justification for Use: This herbicide application is justified to control an outbreak of highly invasive Silver Leaf Nightshade in a city-owned agricultural/industrial site. This is a noxious weed prioritized for control by Yolo County and CDFA. The City has a responsibility to act quickly to control this invasive pest while the population is still low and control is achievable. The nightshade plant is poisonous to livestock and spreads easily in cultivated fields due to the fact it can reproduce from plant and root parts. Hand and mechanical removal are not effective on this pest.
