The Slide Hill Parks stairs replacement project is complete! We are excited to have this long-standing amenity re-opened for people to enjoy.

 August 16, 2024 Update

The contractor is on site and construction has begun.

August 5, 2024 Update

The contractor should be starting work the week of August 12. We appreciate your patience and understanding as it has been a very busy summer of City projects as well as for construction companies. As with all projects, there can be delays due to timing, supplies and resources. 

July 9, 2024 Update

Contractor is scheduled to begin installation in mid-July 2024 through August 2024. 

May 3, 2024 Update

The fabricated stairs arrived in late April, staff are preparing an installation plan. 

February 29, 2024 Update

After a brief change order in mid-January, the final, engineered stamped drawings of the galvanized stairs were approved by the Building Department. Fabrication of the new stairs is now underway and will be shipped to Davis in early April. Demolition of the current stairs is expected to take place in late March. We are very excited to re-open the amenity just in time for summer! Please note that the schedule stated is barring any delays due to resources, staffing or supplies.

Slide Hill Park Slide is getting new stairs!

The stairs which lead to the concrete slide will be replaced with metal, prefabricated stairs. As of January 2024, the stairs have been ordered and staff will soon mobilize to demolish the existing steps in an effort to prepare for the future installation.
