Through our versatile programming, our goal is to offer activities that promote personal development and lifelong learning, healthy lifestyles, inclusiveness, and to promote fun and celebration of life. Our program staff is continually striving to create unique experiences that are sure to capture the heart and interests of those who visit us.

Health and Fitness

The Davis Senior Center offers a variety of health and fitness classes. to review a schedule, check out our newsletter, the Scene.

Friday Films 
Watch a free film every Friday at 12:30pm. To find out the movie of the week check out the

Special Events

The Senior Center hosts a variety of special events throughout the year including the Jewelry Sale, Craft Fair, Thanksgiving, Holiday Party and much more. Check out the Scene. for details.

Education and Technology

Free Wireless Internet 
Davis Senior Center has free wireless Internet access throughout the facility. Ask t the front desk for the "Guest" access code.

Computer + Technology Tutoring
By appointment only
One of the more popular services offered at the Davis Senior Center is our free personalized computer tutorial program which is conducted by volunteers. Whether you wish to set up an e-mail account, learn to surf the Web, or simply perfect your ability to generate letters and documents, our computer tutors can help. Volunteers can also help with smart phones, iPads, and eReaders.

Mac Users Group
2nd Tuesday of month 6:30 p.m.
No charge 
The Mac Users discussion group can assist you with learning about the latest technology and gaining advice from others in the community.

Service Organizations

 

AARP Tax Aide Program
Trained volunteers offer free tax preparation for low- and middle-income individual taxpayers, with special attention to taxpayers are 60+.  Appointments are available February through early April.  Call 530-324-5007 for appointments.

Davis Genealogy Club
Presentations: 3rd Tuesday of the month, 1:00 p.m.
Library Hours: Wednesday & Friday, 11:30 - 2:00 p.m. and 
Third Tuesday general meeting days: 12:00-1:00 p.m.

This group assists and maintains the Senior Center's extensive Genealogy Library, and in addition, hosts monthly lectures and meetings. During library hours, members are available to assist you with accessing research materials. Computer access is also available in the library for research purposes.

Heath Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP)
By Appointment
Trained volunteers with this non-profit group provide free help with Medicare problems and questions regarding Medicare insurance, including traditional, HMOs, Medicare Advantage, supplemental and prescription drug plans.  Call 916-376-8915 for appointments.

Project Linus
2nd Wednesday, 1:30-3:30 p.m.
This group welcomes people who quilt, sew or knit to help create and provide blankets for children who are seriously ill, traumatized or in need of love and a feeling of security.  The group also shares ideas, patterns and good conversation. For more information contact Diane McGee at

Travel and Tours

Davis Travelaires
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Davis Travelaires, a non-profit travel organization located within the Davis Senior Center, provides local, national and international travel opportunities for mature adults. Trips varying from 1-day gambling excursions to multiple-day extended trips are frequently scheduled.
