If you would like to complete a paper survey there are 3 ways to get one.

1. Pick up a survey at Unitrans Business Office on UC Davis campus at South Hall, 180 East Quad.

2. Email us at TransitPlan@cityofdavis.org and we will email or mail you a PDF of the survey. If you would like a paper survey, please include your address in the email.

3. Call us at 530-747-5846 and request that we mail you a survey.

The Davis Short-Range Transit Plan

A Short-Range Transit Plan (Transit Plan or SRTP) is a roadmap for improving transit services over the next five to ten years. The Plan’s focus is on making Unitrans and Davis Community Transit operate better for you by analyzing current Unitrans and DCT vehicle fleets, costs, funding, routes, schedules, bus stops, and other transit facilities. This plan is needed for any transit agency to receive federal funding and to receive State Transportation Development Act Funds, both of which are important funding sources for local transit in Davis.

Transit Services Operating in Davis

Unitrans operates general public bus service within Davis and to the UC Davis Campus, serving most destinations within our community on fixed routes and schedules.

Davis Community Transit provides complementary paratransit service in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for people with disabilities who are unable to ride the fixed-route buses.

Yolobus, Solano Express, the Causeway Connection, and Amtrak also provide additional transit connections to and from Davis.

Facts About Transit in Davis

UNITRANS

There are 52 buses in the Unitrans fleet.
Unitrans carries 3,479,000 passengers annually.
Unitrans has 19 bus routes. The V Line carries more than 20% of all Unitrans riders.
Transit system performance is often measured in passengers per hour. Unitrans carries 47.2 passengers per revenue hour, which is strong compared to other bus systems in California.
Unitrans averages 30 passengers per trip.

DAVIS COMMUNITY TRANSIT

There are four vehicles in the Davis Community Transit passenger fleet.
Davis Community Transit carries 14,936 passengers annually, which averages to 2.9 passengers per hour.
The average trip on Davis Community Transit is 3.9 miles long.
80% of trips are on time.
The average trip costs $67.75 to operate.

Transit Plan Schedule

Participate in the Planning Process

Input from stakeholders and members of the public will help shape the recommendations in the Plan, so it’s helpful for the community to share its perspectives. Please take our survey and join us at pop-up events this year. We will also host a public open house next year.

How Can I Get Involved? Take the survey and be entered to win a gift card. We’re looking for input from all groups including residents, riders, and non-riders. Share your comments on our interactive map. You can include suggestions for improvements that will encourage you to ride more.
